To foster community spirit and promote cultural diversity by organizing an annual dance parade in Newark, showcasing local talent, celebrating various dance forms, and enhancing tourism and economic growth in the city.
ABOUT US .....
On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Join hundreds of dancers from Essex County, New Jersey, and surrounding areas to celebrate numerous dance styles. Experience the colorful and energetic performing art of dance in the heart of Newark's downtown district, from Lincoln Park to Military Park.
WeGotUs Kidz A NJ Non-profit Corporation, The City of Newark and Friends invite you to join the 2025 Newark City Dance Parade. We are excited to build on the success of our previous event held in 2017, which took place from the Boylan Street Recreation Center to Vailsburg Park.
Help us make a positive impact on the lives of many youths and adults who have a love for dance.
Event Highlights:
- Perform at our Final Destination stage located in Washington/Military Park.
- Become an official Dance Choreographer/Instructor for one of our many workshops at the Newark Public Library.
- Mini-workshops and on-the-spot demonstrations by choreographers, instructors, and teachers.
- Performances of different art types and genres.
- Presence of Hometown Heroes from the Comic Con, Cosplay, and Anime communities.
- Multiple teams from Anti-Violence and Anti-Bullying organizations. Your Favorite Charities

Performances:
Performances will take place in front of Newark City Hall and will include step shows, African Dance, Praise Dance, Hop Dance choreography , and various dance styles from participating dance teams.

Registration for the Newark City Dance Parade is open to any individual or group committed to dancing in the parade. To help offset production costs, the following fees apply:
- Individual Registration Fee: $25
- Group Registration Fee (3 or more): $75
- Additional Fee for Groups with Gas-Powered Vehicles: $100
- Performance Fee at the Park (for groups and individuals): $100

We are deeply committed to using dance as a means of healing our community and promoting peace. By participating in the Newark City Dance Parade, you will be joining a movement that aims to reduce violence and bullying in our neighborhoods. Through the power of dance, we seek to create a positive impact and foster a sense of unity and understanding.
We are proud to partner with organizations whose mission aligns with ours, including those dedicated to:
- Violence prevention and intervention: Working to reduce violence through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
- Anti-bullying efforts: Promoting kindness, respect, and inclusivity in schools and communities.

PARADE SET UP AND PROCESSION TIMES :
Event Schedule:
- Parade Set-Up: 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM
- Parade Line-Up & Registration: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lincoln Park
Washington Park Times:
- Set-Up Time: 8:00 AM
- DJ & Live Stream Set-Up: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- DJ Plays: 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Workshops: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Attractions & Speakers: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Showtime: 4:00 PM
- Line Dancing: 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Parade Setup Info & Times:
- All parade participants are asked to meet at Lincoln Park by 9:00 AM, including marching bands and floats.
- Float & vehicle line-ups will take place on the side street in front of the Integrity House.
- Marching bands, dance schools, and large organizations with banners will line up inside Lincoln Park.
- The parade proceeds no later than 10:30 AM.

PARADE PARTICIPANT (GROUP)
GROUPS OF 3 OR MORE WILL NEED TO PAY A $75 FEE FOR PARADE PARTICIPATION. GAS VEHICLES & FLOATS WILL REQUIRE PERMITS AND ARE AN EXTRA COST. THESE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE HANDLED BY THE CITY OF NEWARK

JOIN IN THE FUN AND CHOOSE WHAT ORGANIZATION YOU'D LIKE TO JOIN IN THE PARADE. MAKE SURE THE ORGANIZATION HAS YOUR GENRE OF MUSIC. TO PERFORM @ CITY HALL THERE WILL BE AN EXTRA $25 FEE FOR INDIVIDUAL DANCERS.

The parade route will lead dancers and performers through downtown Newark, culminating in a grand performance at Newark's City Hall, where featured artists and groups will showcase individual and collaborative pieces.
